The Surah name ‘Hijr’ is the name of a town where the people of Hadrat Salih (Nation of Samud) used to live. The name of this Surah, Al-Hijr, is taken from the Aya number 80th which deals with the people of Salih.
The Surah contains the well known declaration of Allah SWT that He, Himself has taken the responsibility of preserving and safeguarding Al-Qur’an (9). And also one of the name of Surah Al-Fatiha is mentioned as Sab’al Masani (87) ” seven of the often repeated ayas ”
It contains stories of previous nations as an example and to give comfort to Prophet Muhammed SAW. Divine order to proclaim the commandments of Allah SWT publicly and turn away from the polytheist. Admonition through the story of Adam’s creation, prostration of the angels before him, and refusal of Shaitan to prostrate.
May Allah SWT give us correct understanding and strength to follow.

Summary

• Quran is a clear book. (1)
• Disbeliever will wish that they would have been Muslim. (2)
• Disbelievers will see their end soon. (3)
• The time of destruction of disobedient nations is fixed. (4, 5)
• Disbelievers made allegations towards Prophet Muhammed SAW. (6)
• Disbelievers were asking for the angels as proof. (7)
• Once the angel come then no more time will be given to reprieve. (8)
• Allah SWT took responsibility of protecting Quran. (9)
• Solace to Prophet Muhammed SAW because disbelievers mock him. (10, 11)

• Benefit of Water and cycle of Rain (22)
• Life and Death cause by Allah SWT and He is the inheritor of everything. (23)
• Allah SWT knows the from past to future all generations and He will gather them on the Day of Judgment. (24, 25)
• Humans are created with dried sounding clay. (26)
• Jinns are created with scorching fire. (27)
• The creation of Adam, the Command to the Angels to prostrate to Him, and the Rebellion of Iblis. (28 – 33)
• The Expulsion of Iblis from Jannah, and His Reprieve until the Day of Resurrection. (34-38)
• Iblis promise to tempt and misled humans. (39)
• Who despair in mercy of Allah SWT are those who astray. (55, 56)
• Abraham AS told by Angels their purpose of visit that is to punish the nation of Lut AS and his wife and save Prophet Lut. (57, 58, 59, 60)

• Prophet Muhammed is just a warner and previous nation who believed only portion of message will be questioned. (89, 90, 91, 92, 93)
• Allah SWT ask Prophet Muhammed to Dawa in open and disassociate from polytheist and Allah is sufficient for mockers who associates partner with Allah. (94, 95, 96)
• Prophet Muhammed SAW was saddened and was in distressed by denial of people of Makka. (97)
• Glorify Allah, be with Muslims and pray until death comes. (98, 99)
