The Surah is named after Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) AS. His name is mentioned in Aya 35. It does not mean that it contains the life story of Prophet Ibrahim but a part of it where Prophet Ibrahim AS made beautiful supplication for his descendant, the city of Mecca, and its resident and for parents.
It gives great lesson that if the person is thankful he will be given more and if he is the denier of bounties of Allah SWT he may also be punished.
Surah describe vivid picture of the Day of Judgment and punishments of hellfire. It describes the dialogue of previous nations to their prophets and reasons people will go to hell or paradise.
